Bob and Marcia will be working with four other Hakomi trainers: Donna Martin, Flint Sparks, Danielle Laferriere and Hersh Gottheil, to deliver this training, organized by Fiona Cunningham in St. Johns, Newfoundland.
The ProSkills format is for helping professionals who have work experience in their field. It presents the Hakomi Method completely but does not provide as much practice time within the training sessions. The idea is that participants would have lots of opportunity to practice between training sessions, either in their own practice, and/or with peers.
Examples of helping professionals who may want to join ProSkills training:
- Psychologists
- Guidance Counsellors
- Certified Canadian Counsellors
- Clergy
- Social Workers
- Yoga Teachers
- Massage Therapists
- Accupuncturists
- Chiropractors
- Naturopathic Doctors
- Doctors of Traditional Chinese Medicine
- Bowen Therapist.
- etc.
For anyone who completes ProSkills and wishes advanced training toward certification, additional sessions can be added to this training.
Following a ProSkills training, participants receive a completion certificate that states the total number of hours of training. This does not certify the person to call themselves a Hakomi practitioner. Certification as a Hakomi Practitioner is assessed on individual competence based, therefore time for certification varies.
