In-person workshop: Taking Time to Connect, Sunday, 26 March

Join us for this half-day workshop to re-connect with ourselves and others

10am-1pm at Star of the Sea on Salt Spring Island

I am offering a series of workshops through the Star of the Sea on Salt Spring, by donation, on a drop-in basis. Each workshop is organized around a theme that naturally arises in relationship. My intention is to facilitate a community of people who are interested in cultivating self-awareness, building kindness and friendship, and learning skills to support others to do the same.

Together, we will create a gentle, quiet place to connect with ourselves and with others in a way that will stimulate gratitude, appreciation and joy, enhancing our sense of well-being. I will guide us in a short silent meditation followed by exercises in pairs/small groups to support a compassionate listening practice. Everyone is welcome.

This workshop is offered by a donation of $25, payable to the Star of the Sea. For Registration please email:

Please note: Donations of $25 can now be given in advance via e-transfer. If you prefer to donate on the day of the workshop, you can do that by cheque, made to Star of the Sea or in cash.

This workshop draws from the Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) training and the Hakomi method. No experience is required…..only an openness to connect with yourself and others. Marcia Burton is a Hakomi Trainer and MSC Teacher, and a Registered Clinical Counsellor, in private practice for 25 years. Hakomi is a word from the Hopi language, meaning, “How do I stand in relation to these many realms”.  The creator of the Hakomi Method, Ron Kurtz, spent over 40 years refining this method and received a Lifetime Achievement Award and honourary degree from the American Association of Body-Psychotherapists.
